Hi all,

I have been slow in keeping you all up to date with my good news. Time just seems to fly by now that I am retired. Yes, retired! I finally did it on the 24th February. My team gave me a lovely lunch with flowers, food, cake and lovely presents! Three of my children, husband and 4 grandchildren were at the lunch, which was such a surprise and delight, including my new grandson Josh, who was born on Valentine's day . I FEEL BLESSED.

Dear Eleanor,

Pleased to hear that you are enjoying your hard earned retirement, and that everything went well at your do.

Do you have plans, or are you going to put your feet up for awhile and sit back and enjoy the grandchildren and family now that you are freed from the shackles of work?

love,

Barbara

Dearest Eleanor

So pleased you have at long last retired and can now spend time with your family and friends.

I'm going to catch up wth my e-mails over the weekend so hopefully we can have a proper catch up next week.

Are you still OK for the 27th or 28th March for a trip to Lylie's?

Lots of love
Jeanxxx

Hi Eleanor

Congratulations on the arrival of your new baby grandson, Josh. Just what you need for your retirement, a little something extra to while away the hours! What a lovely feeling, no more work, but strange at the same time. I'm sure you will very quickly adapt and no doubt already managed to fill the time with ease. It's amazing how one ever had the time to actually go to work!!

Sounds like you had a fab 'do' and what a lovely lovely surprise for you.

Hope the future holds lots of happy things for you Smile

Thank you all for your lovely good wishes. I intend to just 'BE' for a while and enjoy the feeling of freedom without that constant feeling of having to be or do something else. As Doreen said, I cleaned a cupboard which was such a treat as I did it properly not the way you do when you work (quick wipe over and all going back in) but with thought and throw outs! Loving it! I feel quite relaxed and withdrawn at present which is strange. My husband is enjoying this!

I do intend to spend more time with grandchildren. Am in incubation from the babies at present because my neighbour has shingles and I am on a hefty dose of steroids which makes me at risk of contracting chicken pox even if I had it before! Just passing my time taking it easy while I wait my time out.

Jean, I will not be able to go to Lylie's . I have a full diary of appointments in front of me but will e mail you . Love to Lylie from me when you see her.

Eleanor x

What a lovely send off you had, with your family there as well. Sadly I missed out on all that, I retired on ill health after a year off sick.

I hope you enjoy being at home, I and everyone I know finds they're aren't enough hours in the day to do all the things you'd like to!

Love Lyn

Hi Eleanor,

Sounds like you had a fantastic lunch! You obviously meant a lot to your employer and it was their way of showing you.

Enjoy every single moment of your new found freedom doing all the things you sat on a Monday morning wishing you could be doing Smile
